Software Engineer – PHP / Laravel (FinTech)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer – PHP / Laravel with strong expertise in backend development, software architecture, database management, and financial transaction processing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing secure, scalable, and high-performance FinTech applications, digital payment platforms, or financial transaction systems. The candidate should also be proficient in modern AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality and engineering productivity. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable backend applications using PHP and Laravel.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs for web applications, mobile platforms, payment gateways, and third-party services.
• Develop and maintain digital wallets, payment processing, fund transfers, merchant payments, and transaction management systems.
• Design maintainable software architectures using Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
• Optimize database performance using MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Ensure financial transaction integrity, prevent duplicate transactions, and maintain accurate financial records.
• Implement secure authentication, authorization, encryption, and API security practices.
• Apply AI-assisted coding tools to improve development, debugging, testing, and documentation.
• Write unit, integration, and API tests while maintaining high coding standards.
• Collaborate with frontend, mobile, QA, DevOps, and product teams to deliver reliable software solutions. Required Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of professional software development experience, with strong hands-on expertise in PHP and Laravel.
• Proven experience developing or maintaining FinTech, digital wallet, payment gateway, banking, or financial transaction processing systems.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP), Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, and software design patterns.
• Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL, along with practical knowledge of MongoDB.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, database transactions, concurrency control, and data integrity.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices, OWASP security principles, OAuth 2.0, JWT, and role-based access control.
• Practical proficiency with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, or Claude.
• Experience with Git, automated testing, and modern development workflows.
• Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with high-availability and high-concurrency financial platforms.
• Knowledge of financial ledgers, double-entry accounting, and transaction reconciliation.
• Familiarity with Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or other caching and messaging technologies.
• Understanding of graph databases such as Neo4j.
• Experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and automated security testing.
